Edsby

South East Cornerstone Public School Division (SECPSD) uses Edsby as a family communication tool and a student achievement and engagement system. The server code is SECPSD. This platform will also be used to book Student-Led Conferences. For information on booking SLCs, see the link to the right.

Families will receive notifications through Edsby on Assessments, Report Cards, and Attendance, among other things. To control how what type of notifications are delivered, see the link to the right

Edsby is a comprehensive platform which provides a simple way for parents and guardians to follow their children's progress at school, receive school updates, and much more. Edsby may be your first stop to keep up with all your child's school information and progress. Using Edsby means you'll have up-to-the-minute access regarding school information anywhere, anytime.

Parents/guardians and students can log into Edsby. Please check your email inbox (perhaps in your spam or junk folder) for the invitation or contact your child's school for another invitation to join Edsby. Parents/guardians will need to create an Edsby account and then use their email and user created password to access Edsby. Students need to click on the Microsoft button and enter their school email and school password to access Edsby.

Notifications

First Login

When you first login to your Edsby account, you will be prompted with the opportunity to turn on Notifications for your account.

Controlling Notifications

To change what Notifications you receive, go, in Edsby, to the Settings page. Click on your username in the top right, then Settings> Notifications.

What Notifications Do You Want?

There are several settings available. The first,"Activity Digest" will, if turned on, send a daily email with all notifications. This can reduce the number of messages received, but is not immediate.

"Personal" notifications are of messages sent to the person directly, using the Edsby Messages tool.

"Class" (or Organization or Group) notifications refers to activity in each of those. Clicking on the name of the Class, Org, or Group, gives options for what events should trigger notifications, and what kind of notificaitons are sent. The first and last are apparent, but "Class Activity" deserves a note. This is triggered when an Assessment is added, Assessments marks are entered, or (if parents have permission to see) when the teacher posts in the class feed.

What kind of Notifications do you want?

"Notification Bell" is the icon that shows in the Edsby webapp (in a browser.)

"Email" is self-explanatory.

On "Mobile" referes to notifications in the app providing you have enabled push notifications for the Edsby App in your phone settings.

Marks & Communication

Families can view their children’s report cards in Edsby using (and it is recommended to use) a desktop or mobile web browser or the Edsby app (which will redirect you to log into the SECPSD Edsby site to view the report card.) NOTE: Families must have already logged into Edsby following the invitation link sent by their school.

To view the report cards in a mobile or desktop browser SECPSD Edsby access shows the online report card link. (secpsd.edsby.com)
• Click on Classes
• Select View Report Cards, at the bottom of the screen
• Should populate report card

To view the report cards in the Edsby mobile app:
• Click on Classes
• Select View Report Cards, at the bottom of the screen
• This will redirect you out of the app and send you to the SECPSD Edsby login page
• Log in to see the report card

Note: The mobile app will not show the report cards within the Edsby app directly.
