Superintendent of Schools

The Board of Education invites applications for the position of Superintendent of Schools for the South East Cornerstone Public School Division #209 with duties to commence on August 1, 2024 or a date mutually agreed upon.

Centrally located in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, the South East Cornerstone Public School Division is rural/urban and provides learning opportunities to over 8200 students PreK - 12 in 35 schools within 27 communities, as well as providing early learning childhood intervention programs to children from birth to age 5. The School Division operates on an annual budget in excess of 112 million dollars and employs approximately 1200 people. SECPSD also operates 155 bus routes transporting over 3500 students every school day. SECPSD is divided into three areas of schools which is each overseen by a Superintendent of Schools.

Working together with three First Nations communities, caring for children and youth in an inclusive environment is as important as offering and excellent and comprehensive program of studies. SECPSD is known for its vision, "Success and achievement for every student in every school." In addition, the school division is a provincial leader in early learning partnerships and utilizing technology to enhance instruction and learning within the classroom and in the home.

The Division encompasses a wide area roughly the size of Vancouver Island or approximately 31,000 square kilometers. SECPSD serves communities from the Manitoba border in the east, to Ogema in the west, Rocanville and Fillmore in the north and the United States border in the south. The economy of the region is supported largely by agriculture, gas, oil, and service industries. 

The Board of Education invites applications from individuals who seek an exciting leadership opportunity in a progressive and responsive student first education system. Candidates must meet the requirements for membership in the League of Educational Administrators, Directors and Superintendents.
