At MacLeod Elementary School in Moosomin, beginning the week of December 6th to 10th our students brought food items to place in boxes in each classroom. The goal was to bring the most items to try and beat the other classroom in the SCC Food Bank Challenge. KA vs KB, 1M vs 1G, 2B vs 2S, 3D & 3F vs Staff, 4S vs 4W, 5H vs 5R.

The winning classes won the SCC popcorn and treat, but in fact all classes got popcorn that day because we wanted students to learn that when we all give we all win.

Over 1,000 items were brought into the school. Thankfully, Celebration Ford came and picked up the food items with the help of Grade 5H who carried it all outside and helped load the van. It was a great event with an amazing result!

During the month of September, students and staff at ECS were engaged with a variety of activities and discussions that allowed us to hear the truth about Residential Schools and actively listen to stories of survivors. On Sept. 30th, the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we continued to hear, listen, and committed ourselves to actions that will help us work towards Reconciliation. The Wildlife Management 20 class at WCS took a fishing trip to the Causeway Bridge near Mainprize with Lindsey Leko (Conservation Officer) and the Conservation Education Fishing Trailer.
