National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, September 30th.

September 30th is The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day recognizes the survivors. and the children who never returned home from residential schools and commemorates the true history and ongoing legacy of colonialism.
 
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is commonly referred to as "Orange Shirt Day". Orange Shirt Day is an Indigenous lead movement with the purpose of raising awareness and promoting of "Every Child Matters".
