Newer Announcements and Reminders

 

Grade 10-12 students – Some of you seem to be going through the Grade 8 hallways during lunch.  There is NO reason for you to be down that hallway. 

 

King Street Fudge JA Company will be selling our delicious products in the Period 3 Lunch hour on Friday! We are selling individual squares for $6 each and bags of fudge bits for $4. We offer Gingerbread, Chocolate, Mint, Pink White Chocolate, Chocolate Caremel Marshmellow, and Cookies and Cream. See you all there!

 

A reminder to all Senior 'B' Girls' Volleyball players: Return your jerseys to Mrs. Blackburn as soon as possible. Thanks to those who have already returned theirs.

 

PICTURE RETAKES can be brought to the office if we are mailing them.  If you are ordering online than please remind your parents to do it ASAP.

 

Grade 12 students – are you thinking about applying to a full time program at Southeast College next year? Attend one of their Open Houses to apply and the $50 fee will be waived! If you bring a Preliminary Statement of High School Standing you could also receive an acceptance letter on the spot! A University of Regina representative will be on campus as well to answer any questions you have about taking your first year of University at the College. Stop by Southeast College to check out the campus or apply in person anytime from 3:30 – 6:30pm Tues. Nov. 20th.

 

Grade 9-12 Students – Looking for Volunteer Hours? Weyburn Special Care Home is looking for volunteers to help with Christmas decorating on Saturday, November 17th from 10am – 3pm.  You can volunteer the entire time or for a 2 hour shift. Lunch is provided! Please let Mrs. Jensen or Mrs. Klein know before Thursday at noon if you are interested!

 

Weyburn Wrestling Club is looking for volunteers on Saturday, December 1st between 9:00 – 4:00 p.m. (or any time you can spare). Contact weyburnwrestlingclub@gmail.com or call Travis @ (306) 891-6970.

 

CMHA is hosting a SafeTalk workshop entitled 'Suicide Alertness for Everyone' on Novmeber 19th 5:30-9:30pm.  If you are 15 yrs and older, you can register to participate.  The cost is free through donations from a Walk to Remember.  See Treena or grab a form outside her office.

 

Driver Training Important Announcement

Those signed up for Driver Training Class….If there are not 25 to 30 students with SGI numbers on the sign-up sheet at the office, the class will be cancelled until February.  Cutoff is next Friday (November 19th).

 

Any girls from Girls Group interested in attending Peter Pan on Nov 28, please see Lindsey or Mrs. Johnson ASAP!

Attention all Curlers: Signups for the  WCS Curling program will be placed in the Library, outside the office, and on Mr. Lund's door. Sign up in a full team or as an individual! No experience is needed!! If you have any questions, please see Mr. Lund, Mr. Field

 

  1. Ski trip – the ski trip bus is filling fast and as of today any students eligible for the 2019 ski trips can reserve their spot. All it takes is your deposit to hold a seat! Please see Mr. Kerr in the Eagle gym or Mrs. Kerr in the grade 8 hallway to reserve your spot on the bus!
  2. Weyburn travel club – in Easter 2020 the Weyburn travel club has organized a 10 day tour of ITALY! This exciting opportunity is open to any student at WCS that is currently in grade 8,9,10 or 11. The tour will take us through Rome, Pisa, Florence, Venice and Milan! There are limited seats on tours like this so it is first come first served. If you are interested and want more information and pricing, please see Mr. Kerr in the Eagle gym!

 

A wallet was left in the Commons during Grade 7-9 lunch.  Come to the office to describe.

 

VOLUNTEER HOURS OPPORTUNITY!!!  Mrs. Cameron needs students in grade 10,11, 12 to help with Peter Pan hair and makeup, and some back stage for special effects.  You will be needed for dress rehearsal and 4 shows.  Dress rehearsal is Nov 25.  Show dates are Nov 27, 28 and 29.

After School Curling starts today after school!  Please sign up as a team or an individual – at Main Office, Library or Grade 8 Hall.  Curling will run Tuesday and Wednesday 4:00-5:30.  (If you cannot make it this week but still want to curl, please sign up anyway and let one of us know.) .  If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Lund or Mr. Field.
