On November 8, 2018, MacLeod students attended a very special Remembrance Day service to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Signing of the Armistice to end WWI. The service took place in the Moosomin Armoury, built in 1913, and has been newly restored. The Moosomin Armoury served as a recruitment and training facility. One of the special guests was 97 year old Mr. Gordon Jones, a WWII veteran who signed up for the military at the Moosomin Armoury when he was 21 years old. The Last Post was played by Glenn Pew on a WWI replica bugle. The Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry based in Shio, MB attended as well, and brought a LAV 6.0 to MacLeod school that was used in the presentations to students in the afternoon. Other honored guests included Mayor Larry Tomlinson as well as SECPSD board Vice-Chair Carol Flynn.
