Principal's Message
Dear parents and caregivers,

I hope everyone had a relaxing February break and are ready for the busy stretch ahead. It is hard to believe that Semester Two is one-quarter finished already. It is so important that all students prioritize their attendance as so much valuable instructional time has been missed in February due to the severe weather. Staff, as well as yourselves I am sure, are hoping that the weather begins to cooperate in March!

In March, SECPSD high school students are participating in a new survey called Saskatchewan Alliance for Youth and Community Well-being (SAYCW). This survey will replace the OurSchool survey that has been previously done. This survey recognizes that education and health are interdependent. Using our school's results as a guide, SAYCW will work with our Division and our school to identify appropriate programs and policies that target optimal health and well-being outcomes for youth. This will be important as we continue to navigate ways to increase overall student mental health, their sense of belonging, and student advocacy in and out of school.

Our winter math screen data indicates significant growth in math computation. It is evident that teachers are prioritizing guided math instruction and targeting their students' general math fluency.

Our school science fair is on March 27th and we hope you stop by to view all of the projects. We will be selecting projects to send to the regional fair which will be held on April 3rd at the Estevan Comprehensive School.

I would like to invite parents and guardians of current grade 9 students for 'Welcome to High School' information night on Wednesday, March 20th at 7pm in the Lampman School Common Area. I will provide information regarding course offerings next year (both online and on-campus), pre-requisite courses, and graduation requirements.

Our badminton teams are starting to practice. We hope you are able to get out and watch some matches.

Thank you to everyone that provided breakfast during the month of February and to our SCC who provided a staff appreciation breakfast.

Sincerely,
