Students on the Alameda Lit Committee organized a Christmas Store in the school from Dec. 3-7. They collected gently used items or donated items from families and community members. Items ranged in price from $1-$5. Students could come to the store to purchase "gifts" for their parents, family members or friends. The Lit committee members managed the store and wrapped the gifts for the students.
The money raised from the store was used to purchase an inflatable outdoor character, a light up window ornament and a table centerpiece for the residents of the Prairie View Lodge. The Lit committee members delivered the items on Dec. 10th and spent an hour wit the residents playing games and sharing hot chocolate and snacks. There was even a short piano performance by two students.
