Computers for Students

Are you looking for an inexpensive desktop or laptop computer for your child to learn and work on at home? If so, your child's school and South East Cornerstone Public School Division may be able to assist you.

Every year, South East Cornerstone Public School Division replaces technology throughout the division, including roughly 1,000 computing devices. When a computer reaches four to five years of service, the warranties expire and we typically replace the equipment. When this occurs, we look to recycle the equipment and bring in fresh technology in your son's or daughter's classroom.

However, just because the computers have reached the end of their warranty does not mean they are at the end of their life. Many, if not all, of these computers still have plenty of life left in them and are still excellent devices. Instead of sending these computers for recycling, we first look to give them back to students and families at local schools.

This means you will have the opportunity to apply to your school to receive a free-of-charge desktop computer tower (without a monitor) or laptop. These four-year-old computers come equipped with Windows XP, Open Office suite and an anti-virus suite.

So how can you receive one of these computers? The principal of your school will have a form to be completed for a free computer. The form is also available at the link below. Once the principal has approved your request, details will be provided about when and where you can pick up your computer.

Our intent is to provide adequate technology for our students who might otherwise not have the opportunity to own a computer of their own. If you are interested in receiving one of these computers, fill out a form today!
