On Friday, October 27th, one of Mrs. McCormac's greatest dreams became a reality. With the help of some amazing volunteers and the install crew from Playgrounds Are Us from Winnipeg, MacLeod Elementary School is now the proud owners of an amazing sensory space for young children and children with mobility challenges. MacLeod Elementary is now home to a kundu drum, a kettle drum, a set of grandioso chimes, an animato metallophone and an elevated sand table. The Moosomin Kinsmen club granted Mrs. McCormac's request for money for her sensory park dream. Until she was presented with the cheque after their fundraising Lotto 365, Mrs. McCormac did not realize that her wish would be granted. She thought this would be just the beginning of fundraising efforts for this project. The Kinsmen's $25 000.00 made it so that her sensory park dream would come true! Every day that Mrs. McCormac sits in her classroom and can hear the beautiful music that the children are creating right outside her window, it makes her heart happy! The children have been enjoying the sensory park and are treating it with so much respect. Thank you to the Moosomin Kinsmen Club for granting her wish! They have made our playground an even more beautiful place to play.
